After the approval of Himachal Cabinet, the state government has issued a notification regarding the formation of Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission (HPRCA). 2009 batch IAS and Chief Executive Officer, HIMUDA, Dr. RK Pruthi has been appointed as its Chief Administrator.

HPRCA will recruit Class-Three category. Its headquarters will be in Hamirpur. A separate notification will be issued regarding the organization, staffing pattern, budget, financial power and recruitment process of HPRCA.


Commission will not recruit for these departments

The Selection Commission will be given the responsibility of Class 3 recruitment except Himachal Pradesh High Court, Legislative Assembly, Public Service Commission, Compassionate Quota, Ex-Service Men, Disabled Quota, Batch Wise Recruitment, Surveyor in PWD and batch wise recruitment of JBT in the Education Department. Various boards and corporations of the state will also recruit in HPRCA class three category.

The commission was dissolved on 26 December 2022
It is noteworthy that the post code 965 JOA-IT recruitment paper was leaked on December 23, 2022. Due to paper leak, the state government suspended the functioning of the Selection Commission on December 26, 2022 and subsequently dissolved the Staff Selection Commission on February 21, 2023.

Due to this, recruitment of class three category is pending for a long time. The SIT formed on the instructions of the state government has registered an FIR in the Vigilance Police Station Hamirpur in connection with the paper leak of 14 recruitment examinations.

HPRCA formed on the recommendation of Deepak Sanan Committee
In the last cabinet, the government has approved the formation of HPRCA on the recommendation of IAS officer Deepak Sanan Committee. Today Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena has issued its notification.
